House to Hold First Medicare for All Hearing

ANCOR is sharing this article by Politico Pro because of the increasing political traction Medicare for All proposals are gaining. It is important providers of disability supports keep track of this conversation, particularly as updated proposals include long-term supports and services such as those people with disabilities receive. ANCOR has been responding to Congressional inquiries about how these proposals could affect the disability community.

As shared by Politico Pro:

“The House Rules Committee will hold the first-ever congressional hearing on “Medicare for All” next Tuesday [April 30th], according to a notice posted by the committee this afternoon. [ANCOR note: a press release for the hearing shares that it will be viewable on the Committee website.]

The session will focus on the Medicare-for-All bill authored by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), who has led progressives’ efforts in the House to secure hearings and build support for the single-payer legislation.

[…] The panel plans to announce witnesses for the hearing later this week.”
