ANCOR Urges Congress to Avoid Medicaid Fiscal Cliff in U.S. Territories

Last week, Congress passed a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded until December. Among other provisions, the CR contained an extension of the increased federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) for Puerto Rico and the U.S. territories, but only until December 16. ANCOR joined a letter from the Partnership for Medicaid this week that urges Congress to address the upcoming Medicaid fiscal cliff in Puerto Rico and the U.S. territories and include an increased FMAP extension in any must-pass legislation this year. Without additional extension, the FMAP will be lowered back to 55%, reducing access to care for millions of Medicaid beneficiaries.
