Our Mission

An association of community-based providers relentlessly advocating for person-centered outcomes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the trusted conduit of resources for providers, policymakers and the public, ANCOR enhances providers’ ability to support individuals with I/DD to be fully included and empowered in their communities.

  • Funding for I/DD services and supports fully covers the true cost of quality services.
  • Direct support professionals are fully recognized as critical to the provision of quality services and are compensated accordingly.
  • Public policy acknowledges the essential nature of the work of providers.
  • ANCOR’s effectiveness and outcomes attract and engage all providers.
  • ANCOR’s research continuously supports advocacy at the federal and state levels.

Our Strategic Objectives
  • Mitigate the impact of unfunded federal mandates.
  • Ensure federal funding and policy addresses and provides practical solutions to alleviate workforce shortages.
  • Ensure federal policy recognizes the value of increased provider autonomy and flexibility.
  • Increase federal funding for services.
  • Influence congressional and administrative leaders to prioritize ANCOR’s advocacy goals.
  • Expand the availability and utilization of data analytics to advance quality services and educate external stakeholders.
  • Position ANCOR to be the nexus for technological solutions & opportunities for I/DD providers.
  • Expand membership and other sources of revenue.
  • Increase member engagement to expand ANCOR’s influence.
  • Increase member commitment to and financial support for the ANCOR DC PAC.
