Two Federal Resources You Need: Disability Data and Assistive Technology Webinar

ANCOR is sharing two items offered by the federal government because they are helpful to the disability community, albeit in different ways.

1. NEW Disability Data from StatsRRTC, funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Community Living, NIDILRR

As a follow up on this story, ANCOR is sharing that the 2018 Disability Compendium is now available for download, following its official release in February. The Compendium is a report that pools disability statistics published by different federal agencies together in one place.

2. March 12 – Department of Labor/ ODEP Webinar on Assistive Technologies

ANCOR is sharing this notice by the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), which is a product of the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), because of its relevance to people with disabilities participation in the workforce.

As shared by JAN:

“The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) will host its next monthly webcast on “Assistive Technology Basics.” JAN takes thousands of calls every year involving employees with assistive technology needs. With so many options, knowing where to start can be a challenge. JAN Consultants Teresa Goddard and Lisa Mathess will review frequently requested technologies, clarify how to use them, and discuss new and improved tools.
