January 28, 2019

As ANCOR continues to work on improvements to data collection to support our policy objectives, we are following the development of changes in the T-MSIS. The Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) is a critical data and systems component of the CMS Medicaid and CHIP Business Information Solution (MACBIS). See below for an update you should be aware of – and remember that data changes policy!

From the CMS MACBIS T-MSIS Coding Information Team:

"There are two new guidance topics to improve state reporting of Provider data in T-MSIS.

• The Provider Facility-Group-Individual (FGI) code guidance provides reporting information for states to validate FGI codes and related data elements.

• The Provider Identifiers guidance defines each type of provider identifier captured in T-MSIS and provides a high-level description of how states’ source systems can validate provider identifier values for reporting in T-MSIS.

These guidance topics can be found on the T-MSIS Coding Blog. You can subscribe to the LISTSERV via the T-MSIS site on Medicaid.gov:
