The Social Security Administration announced it was reopening local Social Security offices for in-person services beginning on April 7. The reopening of local branch offices comes after nearly two years of closures since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although offices will now be open for in-person services, acting Social Security Commissioner Kilolo Kijakazi continues to advise people to call or schedule appointments online before coming to the physical office.
