In a speech to hospital executives gathered at the Federation of American Hospitals last week, Secretary Azar detailed the top 4 issues he sees as policy priorities in order to increase value-based care in the nation’s health delivery systems.

These were:

  • Allowing patients access to their medical records;
  • Increasing transparency;
  • Using MACRA and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center;
  • Reducing regulatory burdens.

CMS Administrator Seema Verma echoed his remarks about the importance of transparency at the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference, which took place that same week.

As the Administration starts putting its vision for these priorities into practice, ANCOR will keep members apprised of any developments relevant to IDD issues.
