This Wednesday, ANCOR is hosting a virtual bipartisan Congressional briefing to highlight the findings from ANCOR and United Cerebral Palsy (UCP)’s annual report The Case for Inclusion 2023: Making Good on Our Nation’s Promise of Community Inclusion for All. The briefing is hosted in cooperation with UCP and the Congressional Bipartisan Disabilities Caucus.

The briefing will discuss the report’s findings, revealing that the ongoing crisis in the direct support workforce is hindering access to the community, primarily due to the lack of investment in IDD services. As a result, the United States is now facing the possibility of failing to fulfill its obligations to individuals with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Olmstead v. L.C. Supreme Court decision. This briefing will feature a panel of experts, advocates, and direct service providers to discuss a comprehensive policy plan for stabilizing the direct support workforce and enhancing community access for individuals with IDD.

The briefing will also include live remarks from two disability champions: Bipartisan Disabilities Caucus Co-Chairs, The Honorable Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and The Honorable Debbie Dingell (D-MI).

The briefing will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 2 pm EDT and is open to ANCOR members. Please register in advance to join the briefing.
