Advocacy Opportunity: NHeLP Webinar on Improving HCBS Waivers through Public Comments

The National Health Law Program (NHeLP) is hosting a training webinar for advocates and people with disabilities titled “Improving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waivers through Public Comments” on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 4-5 pm EDT. This webinar aims to guide advocates through the process of navigating, analyzing, and commenting on 1915(c) waivers, which are commonly used for Medicaid HCBS programs.

States are required to renew and amend 1915(c) waivers regularly, and this provides stakeholders with the opportunity to offer input and suggest improvements. The webinar will introduce NHeLP’s new commenters’ guide, which breaks down these complex applications, allowing advocates and participants to influence HCBS programs by improving access to care, accountability, and transparency.

Register for the webinar today. If you have an accommodation request, please contact NHeLP’s Operations Team ([email protected]) at least four days prior to the start of the webinar.
