About Shannon

Shannon McCracken has been advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) for over 20 years. Since 2020, she has served as Vice President of Government Relations at ANCOR, the leading national voice in Washington for community providers. In this role, Shannon oversees the numerous functions of the Government Relations team’s efforts to advance the public policy interests of the nearly 2,000 community providers that comprise ANCOR’s membership. Her expertise spans legislative and administrative affairs, advocacy and mobilization, and policy and regulatory analysis.

To her role at ANCOR, Shannon brings a breadth and depth of experience and expertise in the I/DD field, having held leadership positions in both private and nonprofit companies. Prior to joining ANCOR, Shannon held leadership positions with multiple organizations in Kentucky’s I/DD field. Notably, she founded her own case management company, Commonwealth Case Management, and directed its operations for several years. This experience, along with her experiences as a provider, inspired her to become actively involved in KAPP, the Kentucky Association of Private Providers. There, she served in numerous leadership roles, including terms as Chair of the Board of Directors and as the association’s first full-time Executive Director. During her tenure at KAPP, Shannon was instrumental in the implementation of Kentucky’s Adult Caregiver Misconduct Registry.

A native of Kentucky, Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Management from Western Kentucky University. Although she spends considerable time in Washington, DC, she resides with her family in the Louisville area, where you can find her walking her golden retriever, Yuma, or taking in a Louisville City FC game with her husband, Tony.
