As ANCOR’s Government Relations team continues to grow and evolve, we’re thrilled to share that Elise Aguilar will join the team on September 7 as our Director of Advocacy.

This new role on the team was born of the recognition that as ANCOR grows in stature and as our advocacy work continues to be exceedingly crucial in today’s public policy environment, it is absolutely essential to have a senior-level professional overseeing ANCOR’s advocacy and mobilization efforts.

To occupy this newly created role, we couldn’t think of anyone better suited than Elise. She joins ANCOR with over a decade of public policy and advocacy experience. Most recently, she served as both State Policy Counsel and Federal Policy Counsel at Americans United for Separation of Church and State. She also led the National Coalition for Public Education, a group of over 50 national education, civil rights, disability rights, secular and religious organizations in support of funding for public education. Elise earned her JD from the University of Florida Law School in 2011 and her Bachelor of Arts in Government from the College of William and Mary in 2008.

We look forward to welcoming Elise, and to introducing you to her in the near future!
