On Friday, the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) issued an informational bulletin to provide updates on the 2025 Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Spousal Impoverishment Standards, as well as the 2025 resource standards for the Medicare Savings Program (MSP) groups. Spousal Impoverishment Standards apply to a couple’s combined resources in order to protect the spouse who is still living at home from facing impoverishment due to an individual’s placement in a nursing home or institutional setting.

The informational bulletin includes charts that display the new standards for SSI and Spousal Impoverishment for 2025, which will be adjusted in January.
