Youth with I/DD that leverage both community and residential services are supported by two distinct systems that often have different and sometimes competing rules and regulations. As a result, many of these so-called “multi-system youth”—especially those with complex support needs—face barriers to receiving the highest-quality supports possible. To improve outcomes for young people receiving I/DD supports from multiple systems, providers need to not only navigate the various systems and their competing requirements, but also balance those requirements against the needs of the individuals being supported.
This webinar will engage participants in a discussion of options for creating models of support that utilize blended funding streams to develop and deliver services for multi-system youth in the community and residential settings. The presentation will focus on logistical issues related to balancing multiple sets of rules and regulations and on creating integrated services that break down traditional silos that inhibit better outcomes.
