Highlight UBIT Challenges: Ask Your U.S. Representatives to Speak Up at Open Hearing

As part of its work with the UBIT Coalition, ANCOR is encouraging advocates to ask their members of Congress to take advantage of an opportunity to spotlight the challenges changes to the UBIT formula care causing for non-profits, including those supporting people with intellectual / developmental disabilities (I/DD). Specifically, on June 4 at 10am ET the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee is holding a hearing for members of Congress to speak up about legislation and issues within the Committee’s jurisdiction. This includes legislation seeking to repeal the changes to the UBIT formula.

Please email your U.S. Representative to ask them to speak up during the hearing on the need to repeal the UBIT changes. Our “Find Your Elected Official” tool can help you identify them – please see the right-hand tool bar on this page.  Congress Advocates seeking talking points to give to their members of Congress can draw from ANCOR’s comments to the Internal Revenue Service on challenges specific to the I/DD field.
