First in a Series: The Skinny on Rate Setting Re-Design - What’s Really Behind Those Assessment Tools?

March 24, 2016 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm
Eastern Daylight Time

Description

Throughout the country, states are struggling to re-design rate-setting systems funding services and supports for people with disabilities. This effort is being fueled by a multitude of issues including the CMS requirement that states use a universal tool for assessments, the need to address waitlists, funding shortfalls, and system re-design to better meet the intent of the HCBS rule.

Recent conversations among ANCOR members have focused attention on the use of the SIS and whether or not it is the right tool for states to use to assess the needs of the individuals our members support.  ANCOR reached out to the national leaders behind these efforts and is pleased to present this webinar as the beginning of a conversation.  If this topic is of interest to you, you won’t want to miss this first of a series of webinars discussing the tools states are using!

This introductory webinar will address:

  1. What are state obligations regarding rate-setting? What do states need to take into consideration?
  2. Why are states gravitating towards the SIS?
  3. What is happening in states that are using the SIS?
    • Which states are using SIS?
    • How are advocates in those states influencing the rate-setting discussion?
  4. How can we successfully advocate for more transparency in rate-setting?
