Description
A sibling is often the longest-lasting relationship in a person’s life, and siblings play key roles in supporting each other, regardless of ability or disability. Siblings can and do offer important natural supports to their brothers and sisters with disabilities, especially as parents age and siblings become more involved, and they often have important insights to share with providers. Providers can help by sharing information and resources with siblings and developing positive partnerships with them in supporting people with disabilities.
Hear from three members of the Sibling Leadership Network about their personal experience and the experience of many other siblings nationwide, and their hopes for future collaborative relationships with provider organizations.
In this webinar, you’ll gain:
-
a greater understanding of the sibling experience throughout the life cycle
-
what siblings offer as a resource and the kinds of support they want most from providers
-
awareness of opportunities to engage siblings to better serve the entire family
