As Congress considers cutting the amount of federal dollars flowing to states for Medicaid services, their deliberations must be informed by a thorough understanding of the magnitude of the workforce crisis - how the crisis is negatively impacting the ability of providers to serve people in the least restrictive setting possible. And how the inability to recruit and retain Direct Support Professionals is preventing providers from being able to serve people on waiting lists.
Predicting the Future
No matter what specific agendas emerge, ANCOR must remain dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities and the business environment for the providers who support these individuals.

Although the ANCOR Board of Directors has not met in person since last the November/December Across the Board report, we have a number of interim electronic actions to report including: New Board Members, Foundation Trustees Reappointed, the Board affirms ACA Position and approves ANCOR, UCP, AAIDD, The Arc, NACDD Public Policy Agenda for the 115th Congress, and a February Meet & Greet in San Diego.

CMS Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Settings Rule: Part III
In my previous post, I discussed HCBS requirements for residential settings, like group homes, supervised living, assisted living and host home or shared living settings. In this installment, we will discuss settings where other Medicaid HCBS services are provided, such as day habilitation, pre-vocational services, day treatment, clubhouses, and sheltered workshops.
