The University of Minnesota released its Residential Information Systems Project (RISP) study with FY 2016 data last week. As shared on the RISP Page:

“The Residential Information Systems Project (RISP) is a longitudinal study of long-term supports and services (LTSS) that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) receive. An annual survey of state IDD agencies is used to gather information about the settings in which LTSS recipients live, federal and state funding mechanisms used, residential setting type and size, age of recipients, and expenditures. A technical report is published annually describing the data from the most recent state fiscal year.  The RISP report includes data from the Families Information Systems Project starting from the fiscal year FY 2015 report. The current report is for FY 2016.”

Besides sharing the full report, the website also shares infographics on:

  • I/DD prevalence;
  • Residence types;
  • Waiver recipients;
  • ICF-IID residents;
  • LTSS recipients in non-family I/DD settings;
  • People in state-operated facilities.
