President Ronald Reagan declared March to be Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in 1987, and since then, many groups have continued the tradition.
Take advantage of this month and contact your elected officials to explain the challenges faced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Facts are needed with any argument, but remember to include personal stories. Personal stories create the passion and motivation that help things get accomplished.
Take advantage of the ANCOR Action Center. Click here and enter your zip code to receive the contact information for your U.S. Senators and your Representative. Email, call or visit them to tell them your story!
