SSI Issues RFI On Improving Outcomes for SSI Youth Recipients

The Social Security Income (SSI) program is seeking feedback from interested parties on potential policy changes and demonstration projects related to improving the transition of youths receiving SSI from childhood into adulthood. Specifically, SSI has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking strategies to improve outcomes for youths receiving SSI benefits aged 14 through 25 once they become adults and transition out of youth programs. The full RFI, which can be accessed here, asks 11 questions – the answers will be used to inform SSI’s internal policy planning. The deadline for responding to the RFI is February 2, 2018.

If you wish to respond to the RFI and have questions, please contact Sarah Meek, Director of Legislative Affairs at [email protected]. While Esme Grant Grewal, Vice President of Government Relations, would usually handle Administration issues, she will be on maternity leave at that time.
