This week is a work period for the House of Representatives. Take this opportunity to build relationships with those that represent you in Washington.
Set up a meeting in the district office to ensure your policymakers understand what issues are important to you. This is where you should talk about Medicaid. Let your policymakers know who you are, what you do, and how important the services you provide are to their constituents.
An even better way for them to learn about the services you provide is to invite them to visit your agency. Policymakers talk to people every day. One of the best ways to make a point is to show them how Medicaid funds support and save lives rather than tell them.
Call your Representative's district offices for an appointment.
If you do not have his or her contact information, use ANCOR's Congressional and State Directories, which provide a host of information about your members, including district offices' phone numbers and address.
