The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has released a list of applicants for the Section 811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Demonstration Grant. The list shows that 35 states applied for the grant program. The PRA program was authorized by the Frank Melville Supporting Housing Investment Act of 2010, and allows state housing agencies that have entered into partnerships with state health and human services and Medicaid agencies to apply for rental assistance for new or existing affordable housing developments to assist populations most in need of affordable supportive housing. To be eligible for PRA, residents must be extremely low-income (within 30 percent of their area's median income) and have one adult member with a disability. HUD plans to announce grants awarded under the program in November.
