HUD Final Rule on Protections for Sexual Harassment Victims and Domestic Violence Survivors

September 16, 2016
On September 13, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a final rule (RIN 2529-AA94) and new guidance formalizing legal standards under the Fair Housing Act (FHA) for sexual and other forms of harassment in housing. HUD says that there will be additional guidance to address more specifically how the FHA applies to ensure that local nuisance or crime-free housing ordinances do not lead to housing discrimination because of disability.

The press release issued by HUD regarding the rule is available here
