Per the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Education and Workforce’s press release:

On Wednesday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m., the Committee on Education and the Workforce, chaired by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), will mark up the Save Local Business Act (H.R. 3441). Introduced by Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL), the legislation will clarify what constitutes a “joint employer” to provide certainty and stability for workers and job creators.

Upon announcement of the markup, Chairwoman Foxx said:

“This committee has heard from countless local job creators on how the radical joint employer scheme makes it harder to do business and limits opportunities for workers to get ahead. Their concerns haven’t gone unanswered. Clearing up the confusion and uncertainty surrounding the joint employer issue has long been a priority for this committee, and the Save Local Business Act will do just that.”
