House GOP Prepares Its 2018 Election Messaging on Health Care

According to Bloomberg Government:

“House Republicans this week are voting on a series of health-care bills meant to counter Democrats’ message that Congress is failing to deal with the high cost of medical care.

The House is slated to pass bills to expand the amount of pre-tax money Americans can set aside for medical bills, repeal a tax on medical devices, and clear several public health measures. These measures, along with dozens of opioids bills, are aimed at giving Republicans a set of accomplishments to stand on during their summer break ahead of November’s midterm elections.

Democrats appear ready to dismiss the moves as half-measures and are calling on their Republican colleagues to oppose the Trump administration’s moves to undermine Obamacare.”
