HHS Announces Funding for LTSS

June 1, 2012

On May 31, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a new funding opportunity of $25 million authorized by the Affordable Care Act, which will help states expand their ability to help seniors and people with disabilities access home and community-based long-term services and supports (LTSS). The funding will support aging and disability resource centers in most states over the next one to three years.

The initiative is known as the Aging and Disability Resource Center Program and is established through the Administration for Community Living (ACL), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Health Administration. The initiative will help states better coordinate state and federal LTSS programs for eligible individuals.

More information may be found on the ACL and CMS websites.
