Former Governors Urge HHS to Make Medicaid Waiver More Efficient

March 9, 2012

Members of the Bipartisan Policy Center Governors' Council released a set of five recommendations last week to permanently reform federal waivers (1115 research and demonstration, 1915(c),long-term services and supports, and 1915(b) managed care/freedom of choice waivers) and state plan amendments requirements.

The reforms are intended to make the processes more administratively efficient, transparent and predictable and to rebalance the state-federal relationship.
