Federal Panel on Serious Mental Illness Reviews Report, How to Implement Recommendations

ANCOR is sharing this item from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration because of its potential relevance to people with I/DD who also have been diagnosed with mental illness. Last week the Interdepartmental Serious Illness Coordinating Committee held its fourth meeting. The Committee was established in 2016 as part of the 21st Century Cures Act, and tasked to “make recommendations for actions that federal departments can take to better coordinate the administration of mental health services for adults with a serious mental illness or children with a serious emotional disturbance.” During its fourth meeting, it considered how to implement the recommendations from its latest report, which ANCOR has included here for the convenience of its members.

Note that specific references to I/DD in the report can be found on pages 20-21, 50, 60, 83 and 90.
