Congress in Recess: Show Congress How Medicaid Cuts Affect Their District

April 18, 2011

While members of Congress have gone home for a two-week Easter/Passover recess, talk in Washington centers around cutting programs and services from the budget.

Take advantage of this opportunity to invite your U.S. Representative and Senators to your sites and homes. Ensure they understand the reality of what the proposed cuts in federal funding means in their home district. Introduce them to the people you support and tell them real stories that they will remember when they return to Washington.

Please contact your member of Congress now to schedule visits. If that is not possible, attend a town hall meeting. Click here to log in and access a list of town hall meetings.

Tell the people you meet with to

  • Say “no” to block grants;
  • Support FMAP; and
  • Work with our organizations to identify areas of improvement without cutting indiscriminately.

For more information, help with setting up visitsor questions, please contact Mary Pauline Jones (mpjones@ancor.org).
