Congress Reaches Deal on Continuing Resolution

August 2, 2012

On July 31, Congressional leaders and the White House announced a deal to adopt a stopgap spending bill that will keep the government operational through the first quarter of 2013.

According to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), the six-month continuing resolution will contain no policy riders and will be prorated at the 2013 spending level set by the Budget Control Act last August.

The bill will be adopted after Congress' August recess.
