CMS Issues Guidance on ACA’s Medicaid Payment Suspension

On February 2, 2011, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services published its final rule implementing the Affordable Care Act provision regarding “Suspension of Medicaid Payments Pending Investigation of Credible Allegations of Fraud.” CMS issued guidance to states and frequently asked questions regarding “credible allegations of fraud.” The final regulation also includes notice of the $505 provider application fee.
