In conjunction with 8 other organizations, ANCOR will be co-sponsoring a Congressional briefing on the importance of the Money Follows the Person (MFP) program. This important rebalancing program is currently up for reauthorization by Congress, with federal funding having expired in September 201. The briefing will be held on September 6 at 10am ET and will feature stakeholders from the I/DD and aging communities to explain what the program means for them. There will also be a speaker from MACPAC, the independent agency that analyzes Medicaid data for Congress. ANCOR member RHA will be the featured provider on the Congressional panel. To further educate Congress on the importance of this program, the briefing will be held the day after the House of Representatives hosts a hearing (September 5) on the EMPOWER Care Act (H.R. 5306) which seeks to reauthorize the MFP program.

ANCOR strongly encourages members who live locally to attend the briefing – please consult this flier for logistical information. Please stay tuned for more from us this week on how to further advocate for this program!
