ANCOR is pleased to announce that CEO Renee Pietrangelo has been invited by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to participate in the Personal Care Attendants Workforce Advisory Panel. The panel's mission is to examine and advise the Secretary of HHS and Congress on workforce issues related to personal care attendant workers, with respect to the adequacy of the number of such workers; the salaries, wages, and benefits of such workers; and access to the services provided by such workers.
The panel was authorized as a part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and specifically acts as an advisory body on personal care attendant workforce issues related to the ANCOR-supported Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act provisions in the ACA. Pietrangelo was nominated to represent home and community-based service providers for a term of two years. The panel includes individuals with disabilities, seniors, workforce/labor organizations, and assisted living providers.
Pietrangelo’s participation will ensure ANCOR members will be heard on these important issues, as well as the success of the CLASS Act as it is implemented. For more information on the CLASS Act, click here.
