Every year, ANCOR asks the U.S. Senate to issue a bipartisan proclamation recognizing Direct Support Professionals as part of our Direct Support Professional Recognition Week advocacy. DSP week begins September 9 and there is still time for your Senators to join! So far, the following 10 Senators have signed on:

  • Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine
  • Senator Angus King, I-Maine
  • Senator Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio
  • Senator Ed Markey, D-Massachusetts
  • Senator Chris Murphy, D-Connecticut
  • Senator Bob Menendez, D-New Jersey
  • Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts
  • Senator Amy Klobuchar, D-Minnesota
  • Senator Richard Blumenthal, D-Connecticut
  • Senator Maureen Hassan, D-New Hampshire

Given the importance of bringing attention to the hard work performed by DSPs every year, please ask your U.S. Senators to join the resolution. If your Senators have already signed onto the resolution, please take a moment to thank them. Contact Sarah Meek, Director of Legislative Affairs, at [email protected], for more information.
